Fall Festival

We celebrated Maylee's 5th birthday tonight with a Fall Festival!  We had such a great time.  Many of us dressed up.  I am posting a few pictures that I took, but I was so busy that I did not get to take many.  Lynsey took a lot of pics, so I will post more as soon as I get more from her. After pumpkin decorating, a hay ride, and lots of presents, the girls are still up and playing!

A special thanks to all of our family and friends that came out to celebrate and fellowship.  We are so blessed to have so many people in our lives that love and support us.  Thank you and we love you all!

~Remember...more pics to come later!  :)

Fabulous Fall Break "Holiday"

This weekend was our Fall Break in DeSoto County.   It could not have come at a better time!  Dan and  I took a little getaway trip to Hot Springs.  We had a wonderful time just resting and relaxing.  We hiked in the trails of the Hot Springs National Park.  We had no idea that the scenery would be so beautiful.  There are views and places on the trails that you could not possibly see from a car.  It just reminded us how much we enjoy hiking!  I was so upset with myself because I left our camera at home!!!  The only pictures we captured were with our cell phones.  Also, on the trip we met some really neat people.  We met two couples who were visiting the southern United States from South England.  They were here on "holiday"!  We could have sat and talked to them for hours!  After a very busy beginning to the 2011-2012 school year, it was so nice to have a long weekend to spend with my sweet husband.

While we were on "holiday" in Hot Springs, Maylee went to GiGi's for some river time.  She could not wait to go a do karaoke.  And from the reports we received......the sang all night long!  :) The girl loves a microphone.

It is back to work and no more "holiday" at the Samples house.  It won't be long before our Thanksgiving break!  :)  This is my favorite time of the school year.  It will soon be time to get out all of the Christmas decor.  We hope all of you have a wonderful week!

Country GIRLS can Survive!

We had another fabulous weekend.  Saturday we went to Noah's 5th birthday party!  He had a HUGE water slide which was loads of fun!  We always love going to Tipton County for a good ole visit with our friends.  I talked to the girls on the way and explained to them how I grew up "in the country".  :)  While at the party, Maylee ran up to me and said, "Mama, I am going to be fine on this slide because COUNTRY GIRLS CAN SURVIVE!"  :) Of course, I was speechless.  It was a gorgeous day for Noah's awesome birthday celebration.

Sunday after church, the girls and I went shopping for Halloween costumes.  We were walking through a store when all of sudden I heard little gasps and squeals.  They had spotted "pop up pets" or aka "happy nappers".  This is a version of a pillow pet, but it has a house.  They have been talking about these things for months, but they are just now in stores.  Well I could not pass up the excitement and thrill in their eyes (sucker...).  We left with 3 Lady Bug Happy Nappers.  I was wondering if that meant the girls would go home and take a nap!  I wish I would have had my video camera to catch their expressions.  At one point, Emma said, "I just cannot believe it."  Maylee said, " I cannot get this happy off of my face!".  Becca was so excited that she was the one to figure out how to get the pet out of the house that she was shaking!  :)  It was priceless.  After all the stuffed animal excitement, we did manage to find some super cute costumes for our upcoming fall events.

We hope you all have a fantastic week.  :)

Birthday Boy - all grown up!  :)

Nicholas said, "Forget the water slide and presents, I am ready to ride!"

The Girls taking a break from sliding!  I think Becca was upset about not holding the Sprite.  She smiled after the picture when she was holding the can.  :)

Country Girls make their own seats on the Capri Sun coolers.

Three very HAPPY girls.  Their shoes make me smile!  :)

Dress rehearsal with our new costumes!  Stay tuned for the real deal.
