Country GIRLS can Survive!

We had another fabulous weekend.  Saturday we went to Noah's 5th birthday party!  He had a HUGE water slide which was loads of fun!  We always love going to Tipton County for a good ole visit with our friends.  I talked to the girls on the way and explained to them how I grew up "in the country".  :)  While at the party, Maylee ran up to me and said, "Mama, I am going to be fine on this slide because COUNTRY GIRLS CAN SURVIVE!"  :) Of course, I was speechless.  It was a gorgeous day for Noah's awesome birthday celebration.

Sunday after church, the girls and I went shopping for Halloween costumes.  We were walking through a store when all of sudden I heard little gasps and squeals.  They had spotted "pop up pets" or aka "happy nappers".  This is a version of a pillow pet, but it has a house.  They have been talking about these things for months, but they are just now in stores.  Well I could not pass up the excitement and thrill in their eyes (sucker...).  We left with 3 Lady Bug Happy Nappers.  I was wondering if that meant the girls would go home and take a nap!  I wish I would have had my video camera to catch their expressions.  At one point, Emma said, "I just cannot believe it."  Maylee said, " I cannot get this happy off of my face!".  Becca was so excited that she was the one to figure out how to get the pet out of the house that she was shaking!  :)  It was priceless.  After all the stuffed animal excitement, we did manage to find some super cute costumes for our upcoming fall events.

We hope you all have a fantastic week.  :)

Birthday Boy - all grown up!  :)

Nicholas said, "Forget the water slide and presents, I am ready to ride!"

The Girls taking a break from sliding!  I think Becca was upset about not holding the Sprite.  She smiled after the picture when she was holding the can.  :)

Three very HAPPY girls.  Their shoes make me smile!  :)

Dress rehearsal with our new costumes!  Stay tuned for the real deal.

Fun Times on Labor Day Weekend

It is just amazing how quickly a three day weekend can fly by!  We had a great weekend.  Dan and I went to the Jamey Johnson concert Friday night with Daddy & Bonnie.  We visited with Cowboy for awhile before the show which was a great time!  The show was awesome as usual!  Dan was off Saturday, so we began the morning by getting donuts and then heading to the nursery to buy some trees for our backyard.  The girls enjoyed playing in the yard and with the neighbors all afternoon.  Emma started riding her bicycle without her training wheels a few weeks ago, so we saw her riding skills.  :)  By late afternoon, she had convinced Maylee to try riding without her training wheels.  They both were riding minus the trainers!  Saturday evening ended on a great note -- we watched the Tennessee game and marked a W for the Vols!  Sunday was a rainy day!  After church the girls and I headed to Tunica to do some shopping.  Monday was another day of great outdoor fun - bicycle riding, kite flying and scooter riding or bunny hopping!  Grandpa, BonBon, Poppy, and Grandmama all came over to spend the afternoon.  We had a great Labor Day weekend.  If only every weekend could consist of three days!

Becca decided to skip the group photo and keep coloring the cool bag Granny and Papa C bought while in Oxford.
