So many PRAISES :)

It has been a BUSY two weeks at our house!  First, we have a HUGE praise for the successful surgery that removed the nasty cancer from Ma's lung.  She is recovering very well and even made a trip to the river this weekend.  Thank you all for your words of prayer and encouragement during her time in the hospital.

Next, we have been working hard to get unpacked and settled in our house.  We have the best neighbors.  They have all been so nice and welcoming.  The girls love playing with all of their children too!

We went to Lifeway Saturday to meet Bob and Larry, the characters from Veggie Tales.  The girls were so excited.  Maylee was the only one who wanted her picture taken with the characters, but Emma and Becca did wave!  After visiting with Bob and Larry, the girls picked out books to add to their libraries.

Also, AWANA started on Sunday nights at church.  The girls have been working hard learning their Bible verses each week.  It is the most precious sound hearing each of them say the verses in their sweet voices.  :)

Hope you all have a great week!  It is almost football time in TENNESSEE (and yes, we know we live in Mississippi)!!  Cannot wait to share pics of all of us in our TENNESSEE Orange!  Go VOLS!

Theme night at AWANA - Crazy socks for Emma and ABC night for Maylee and Becca

Getting ready for our outing to see Bob & Larry - we decided to take friends too!

Home Sweet Home

After a long and very busy weekend, we are moved into our new home!  We have not posted anything about the move in fears that something might happen at the last minute to prevent us from closing on the house and moving.  We've spent the past month packing and living out of boxes!  It was all worth it in the end!  Although this weekend was very busy and tiring, we really enjoyed spending some time with our family!  Thank you all for your help and visits.  We are so excited about our new home!!

We have met several of our new neighbors this weekend.  Today a guy and his son walked over to introduce themselves.  Maylee and the little boy starting playing in the yard and then riding scooters.  When it was time to come in for the evening, Maylee ran inside and said, "Mama, I think he is perfect for me to have a wedding with"!!!!  Then we saw her wrapping her ceramic cow she made at Mud Monkey in a napkin.  She thought it would be a great present to give her new "friend"!  OH MY.....  I am sure we will have many more interesting stories to tell from our new neighborhood!

Our new house!  The tree will be coming down soon and the flower beds will change!  We have a lot of work to do, but we love it!

First Days of School

It was a big week for all of the girls!  Becca and Maylee returned to their preschools.  Emma started Kindergarten!  We cannot wait to hear all of their school stories and share them with all of you!

TeNNeSSee River Girls

The first week of school is so busy for me that I have to call on some grandparent favors to help out!  A very special THANK YOU to GiGi, G-Paul, Grandmama, and Poppy for entertaining the girls as the 2011-2012 school year got started.

The girls started the week out at the Tennessee River with GiGi and G'Paul.  Every time we called to chat...they were so busy having a blast!  Driving the golf cart....driving the boat.....playing with bubbles.  For those of you who know G'Paul, we know that you will never see someone else driving his boat.  Imagine my surprise when GiGi sent me a text of three  little girls driving his boat!  PRICELESS  After Dan met GiGi and G'Paul in Corinth to get the girls, I have a feeling they went back to Clifton to take a three day nap.  :)

Next the girls spent some time at Grandmama and Poppy's house which meant they spent time with their older cousins, Jalyn and Peyton.  Did you know the money fairy will put money under your pillow when you go right to sleep?  (Thank you, Peyton!!) I think that must only happen at grandparents' houses because I have been looking every morning!  Grandmama and Poppy took all to the Botanic Gardens to "My Big Back Yard" until the rain caused the day to be shortened.  But don't worry - they did have some entertainment on the way home when a girl rear ended their car.  No injuries!

We missed the girls like crazy during these hectic days.  We do know that they loved and cherished their time with their grandparents just like we did as children!  There just isn't any place quite like your grandparents.  With that being said...please lift my sweet grandmother up in prayer as we are waiting on some news.

Here are some great river pictures of the girls!

An Evening Out

We went downtown Saturday evening for an adventure with Sabrina and Dustin and all of our children.  We started out having supper at The Spaghetti Warehouse.  The children had fabulous balloon hats made during the wait for our food.  After enjoying some delicious Italian food, we all went for a ride on the trolley or as Maylee said, "the Charley".  It was so much fun watching all of their sweet faces as we saw some of the landmarks of downtown Memphis.  Dan and Dustin were only reprimanded a few times by the very strict trolley driver.  :)

SISTERS

I've never had a biological sister, so I have never been one to believe that blood has to link you to someone to love them like a sister.  I had very close friends and cousins growing up that I have always considered sisters. Lanette was a sister to me beginning our eighth grade year and we continued to communicate like sisters even when she moved to Georgia our sophomore year.  Sabrina Lynn Coats Lowry is my sister until this very day.  We met when we were freshmen in high school only to find out that we lived just three miles from each other.  She has stood by me through every imaginable event in my life.  She is my sister.  I have been blessed with so many friends that are truly "sisters" to me.....Sabrina, Kathy, Stephanie...I would not be the person I am today without these amazing ladies.   I am even blessed now to have a sister-in-law, Christy, who treats me like a true sister!  :)

I cannot begin to explain the amazing bond I have watched take place between Emma, Maylee, and Becca over the past six months.  I knew they loved playing with one another and being together, but I truly did not know the depth of their love until this past week.  Even though they are all so young, they knew how important their sisterhood was to one another as Maylee was going through the difficult time of losing her Daddy.  I heard Emma offer Maylee sweet words of encouragement and understanding.  On the day of the funeral, I was rushing Maylee to get ready (as usual)....but I had to stop and slow down when I realized that the three of them were in the sweetest embrace!  I had to wait for the three to have a group hug and then individual hugs.  Never underestimate the love and comfort of your SISTERS!

Maylee Macenzy

Thank you all for the love and support you have shown to Maylee over the past three days as she is learning one of the hardest lessons in life.  She has the most precious family and friends that will be here to support her as she grows up.  Even though she is only four years old, we have been amazed at her strength and tenderness.  We should never take one day for granted.  Please continue to pray for Maylee as she grieves the loss of her Daddy.
